Indeed hauling and storage for the winter

12/07/03 snow storm

We were hit by a good snow storm
on 12/07/03

It looked like I had waited too long to
finish modifying the trailer.

Indeed was the last haul-out (12/19)
before Christmas

The cradle was originally built for a small sailboat.
I cut and extended it 5½ feet and reversed the
ends to put  the stands outside (gaining another foot).
This placed the stands under ribs and bulkheads and
centered the cradle on the axles.  The keel (1000# in
the bulb) can be slid to balance the trailer.

.Surprisingly she fit on the trailer as
I had planned (... hoped).
There was no hull deformation and
she balanced very well.

Getting ready to load the boom.

The yard let me use its pickup truck to move Indeed the four miles to home.
Notice how the stern and mast hang over the truck.

This is where she will be spending this winter.
Those are my work suit and Cold Water
Immersion Suit airing out on the clothes line.

I put on a "quick and dirty" pvc conduit and
tarp cover before heading to NH and NJ
for Christmas.  Unfortunately I couldn't find
my tarp fittings that can grab the tarp other
 than at the grommets.

Hopefully it will stay together until I get back.
You never know with the winds that can come
 up in RI.
